Asiana Airlines "Files Appeal Against Court Ruling on In-flight Meal Payment to LSG"

Asiana Airlines announced on the 8th that it has filed an appeal with the Seoul Central District Court regarding the first-instance ruling in the lawsuit filed by LSG Sky Chefs Korea (LSG) claiming payment for in-flight meal supplies and other charges.

Asiana Airlines stated, "On August 17, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff LSG's claim and dismissed the counterclaim filed by our company," adding, "We are disclosing this information as we have filed an appeal with the Seoul Central District Court on the 8th."

Previously, the Seoul Central District Court ruled partially in favor of the plaintiff in the lawsuit filed by LSG against Asiana Airlines for payment of in-flight meal supply fees, ordering Asiana Airlines to pay approximately 18.27 billion KRW to LSG.

Asiana Airlines had a contract with LSG for in-flight meal supply, which was renewed every five years, but changed the service provider to Gate Gourmet Korea (GGK) in 2017. During this process, LSG claimed unfair contract termination and filed a lawsuit against Asiana Airlines.
