Uiryeong-gun Holds Safety Management Committee Meeting

Review of 3 Items Including Safety Management Plan for Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival

Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it held the 2nd Safety Management Committee meeting of 2023 on the 6th at the 2nd-floor conference room of the county office, with 9 committee members including the county governor in attendance, ahead of various local festivals such as the 2023 Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival scheduled for September and October.

This Safety Management Committee meeting was attended by committee members from related organizations such as the Uiryeong Police Station, Uiryeong Office of Education, Uiryeong Fire Station, and officials from departments related to the festivals, where they reviewed three safety management plans for events expected to attract more than 1,000 visitors per day: the Uiryeong Sinbeon Cultural Festival, the 2023 Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival, and the Saturday Love Uiryeong Agricultural Specialties Festival.

To maintain order at the festival sites, they reviewed potential risk factors throughout the festivals by confirming expected capacity and visitor flow as well as safety measures for attendees. They also deliberated on the deployment plans for safety personnel at the venues, the duties of managers for each event site, and the actions to be taken in case of emergencies, thereby meticulously preparing safety measures for the festivals.

County Governor Oh Tae-wan stated, “While the success of the festivals is important, safety is the top priority,” adding, “We will do our best to manage safety in cooperation with related organizations to ensure that not a single safety accident occurs, so that visitors and residents can enjoy the festivals safely.”
