KOSPI, Foreigners and Institutions Net Sell... "Below 2550 Level"

The KOSPI fell below the 2550 level due to net selling by foreigners and institutions.

On the 7th, the KOSPI closed at 2548.26, down 15.08 points (0.59%) from the previous trading day.

On that day, the index dropped at the start of trading and fell as low as 2539.24 during the session, but rebounded slightly before the close to finish trading.

By investor type, foreigners and institutions net sold 5 billion KRW and 275.4 billion KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net bought 246.5 billion KRW.

Most sectors declined. Medical precision, steel and metals fell more than 2%, and chemicals also dropped 1.34%. On the other hand, paper and wood, telecommunications, insurance, and services rose slightly.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 70,400 KRW, up 400 KRW (0.57%) from the previous trading day. NAVER also rose 1.17%. Conversely, POSCO Future M fell 5.82%, and POSCO Holdings dropped 2.07%. Along with these, LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and LG Chem declined more than 1%.

On that day in the KOSPI, 187 stocks rose without any hitting the upper limit. Meanwhile, 699 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit. 47 stocks remained unchanged.

The KOSDAQ closed at 906.36, down 11.59 points (1.26%) from the previous trading day.

By investor type, foreigners and institutions net sold 136.8 billion KRW and 50.9 billion KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net bought 216.2 billion KRW.

By sector, finance, paper and wood, general electric and electronics, and publishing and reproduction fell more than 3%. Additionally, computer services, telecommunications equipment, chemicals, and transportation equipment parts declined more than 1%. On the other hand, broadcasting services and machinery equipment rose more than 1%.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 289,000 KRW, down 12,000 KRW (3.99%) from the previous trading day. SM and EcoPro fell 5.04% and 4.19%, respectively, and L&F also dropped 3.98%. Conversely, Rainbow Robotics rose 8.26%, and Lunit increased 5.54%.

In the KOSDAQ market, 384 stocks rose, including 5 stocks such as AerinSys and HB Technology that hit the upper limit. Meanwhile, 1,149 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit, and 65 stocks remained unchanged.
