Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is stepping up its promotion of the Hometown Love Donation Program ahead of Chuseok.
The county announced on the 7th that, anticipating visits from expatriates during the national holiday of Chuseok, it plans to install promotional materials for the Hometown Love Donation Program at crowded places such as Jangseong Station and the terminal.
Since the golden holiday lasts for a total of six days, banners will also be hung and informational leaflets placed at major tourist spots in Jangseong, including Baekyangsa Temple, Chukryeongsan Mountain, and Hwangryonggang River.
Online promotion using social networking services (SNS) will also be conducted simultaneously.
The county will introduce the benefits and return gifts of the Hometown Love Donation Program in an easy-to-understand manner through blogs and card news.
Jangseong-gun’s Hometown Love Donation Program offers a total of 66 return gift items, with 52 items excluding seasonal products listed on the ‘Hometown Love (e)um’ website.
Various return gifts are available, including agricultural specialties such as dried persimmons, sprout ginseng, and honey, as well as processed foods and daily necessities.
Among them, the most eye-catching product ahead of Chuseok is the ‘Weeding Service.’
The ‘Weeding Service’ is a product operated once a year only during the Chuseok holiday period by the Jangseong-gun Forestry Cooperative. It is a benefit provided to donors who find it difficult to visit their hometown or perform weeding, offering a 30,000 KRW discount voucher as a return gift for a 100,000 KRW donation.
A county official said, “Applications for the Weeding Service are accepted until the 12th. Since it may sell out early, we ask for prompt applications.”
Meanwhile, the county is conducting a ‘Hometown Love Donation Certification Shot Event’ to revitalize the program. Through a draw, 20 people will receive NongHyup Rural Love mobile gift certificates.
