[Photo] Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Attends 2023 Gender Equality Week Commemoration Event

On the 6th at 2 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the '2023 Gender Equality Week Commemoration Event' held in the small auditorium on the 6th floor of Nowon District Office.

In celebration of Gender Equality Week (9/1~9/7), the district prepared various commemorative events with residents to spread a culture of gender equality in daily life and realize a gender-equal society.

The first part of the ceremony, held in two parts, included awards for individuals who contributed to the development of gender equality and a congratulatory performance by pop artist Lee Hee-joo. Award recipients included 12 individuals, 1 equality couple, and 2 groups.

Following this, in the second part, lawyer and broadcaster Lee In-cheol was invited to give a lecture on the theme of 'Gender Equality and Law.'

Before the ceremony, starting at 1 PM, there were experience booths for creating calligraphy gender equality family mottos, violence and crime prevention promotion booths, and a career interruption women employment support campaign booth. About 20 works were exhibited in the commemorative photo exhibition 'Hearts Drawn with Light,' hosted by Wolgye Our Family Counseling Center.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “Through this commemorative event, I hope that respect and communication between men and women will realize equality and that residents’ interest in gender equality will increase. I also hope that many residents participated in the event and that it became an opportunity to raise awareness of gender equality in daily life.”
