Seongmyeong Jo, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, attended the opening ceremony of the global art fair KIAF Frieze Seoul held at COEX on the 6th.
Gangnam-gu is operating the Gangnam Art Promotion Pavilion at this year's KIAF Seoul, showcasing a media art exhibition by Kim Wooyoung, a first-generation domestic advertising photographer. In addition, the 'Gangnam Art' project, a tour of exhibitions at 34 famous galleries in Cheongdam, Apgujeong, and other areas, is underway, and on the 6th, 'Cheongdam Night,' an event to enjoy nighttime exhibitions at 18 galleries, will be held.
Also, in connection with this art fair, the 'G Culture Festa' will be held at the east plaza of COEX from the 6th to the 9th. It consists of ▲ Music Festa featuring performances by various artists such as Forestella and Park Jung-hyun every day at 7 p.m. for four days ▲ 'Art and City Lounge,' a resting space integrated with artworks by artist Lee Eun-sook ▲ and an F&B (Food & Beer) lounge.
Seongmyeong Jo, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “We have prepared programs and events that allow world-renowned galleries and art lovers visiting the large-scale art fair to enjoy Gangnam-gu’s excellent galleries and cultural events,” adding, “We will continue to actively collaborate with global events held in the region to widely promote Gangnam’s status worldwide.”
