Proposal to Convene Plenary Session in Early October for Special Act Deliberation
Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, visited the National Assembly and the Presidential Office on the 6th to urge support and cooperation for major Gyeongnam issues, including the passage of the Special Act on the Space Aviation Agency.
Governor Park visited the Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee of the National Assembly and repeatedly requested Chairman Jang Je-won for the prompt passage of the Special Act on the Space Aviation Agency, which has been pending in the National Assembly for several months.

He said, "The review of the Special Act on the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency is delayed, causing great concern among the residents," adding, "The whole world is competing to dominate the space industry, and the launch of the Space Aviation Agency must not be delayed any longer."
Chairman Jang said, "As the chairman, I have risked my position to negotiate with the opposition party, and I apologize to all the residents of Gyeongnam for the delay in passing the bill," adding, "I am well aware of the hopes for the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency, and I will do my best to ensure that the Special Act passes through the Legislation and Judiciary Committee and the plenary session."
Following this, Governor Park met with Yoon Jae-ok, Floor Leader of the People Power Party, and requested the convening of a plenary session in early October to expedite the processing of the Special Act on the Space Aviation Agency.

At the Presidential Office’s Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, proposals were made for the establishment of a dedicated organization for the Space Aviation Complex City following the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency, support for revitalizing tourism on the southern coast, and the establishment and expansion of medical schools to increase medical personnel.
It was suggested that the President personally attend the ceremony commemorating the inscription of the Gaya Tumuli as a World Heritage Site scheduled for mid-November and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Namhae-Yeosu Undersea Tunnel, linking the events to respond to regional aspirations for balanced national development and demonstrate the will for a culturally strong nation.
Earlier, when the Special Act on the Establishment of the Space Aviation Agency, submitted to the National Assembly in April, failed to pass the Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee, Governor Park visited the National Assembly several times.
On the 3rd of this month, he raised his voice by participating in a province-wide rally held at Sacheon Samcheonpo Bridge Park to urge the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency and the passage of the Special Act.
At the expanded executive meeting at the provincial office on the 4th, he said, "The regular session of the National Assembly in September is the last chance for the opening of the Space Aviation Agency within this year," adding, "I will directly visit the Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee and communicate with lawmakers to actively ensure the passage of the Special Act and will not stop my efforts."
