Education Support Office Conducts Joint Campaign with Suncheon Yeo Middle School
On the morning of the 6th, the Suncheon Police Station in Jeollanam-do (Chief Kim Nam-hee) conducted a joint crime prevention campaign with the Suncheon Office of Education and Suncheon Girls' Middle School at Suncheon Girls' Middle School, titled "Prevention of Youth Crime through Posting of Announcements of Abnormal Motive Crimes."
The campaign aimed to inform students that posting announcements of abnormal motive crimes online, such as on SNS, even as a joke, is a serious crime punishable under criminal law as "threatening" and "obstruction of official duties by deception." It was designed to raise awareness among youth and prevent criminal intent in advance.
Prior to this, the Suncheon Police Station, with cooperation from each school, sent home notices to parents urging them to caution their children against posting announcements of abnormal motive crimes as a joke.
Kim Nam-hee, Chief of Suncheon Police Station, stated, "We will continue to promote the prevention of youth crimes such as posting announcements of abnormal motive crimes, youth drug use, and gambling, along with special preventive education, and collaborate with related organizations to strengthen youth guidance activities."
