Yeongyang-gun, Training to Strengthen Monitoring Capacity for Community Security Plan

Implementation Review of the 5th Mid- to Long-Term Community Security Plan Projects (2023?2026)

The Community Security Council of Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk (co-chairmen O Do-chang and Kim Gil-dong) conducted a 'Capacity Building Training on Understanding the 5th Community Security Plan and Monitoring' at 10 a.m. on the 6th in the auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Yeongyang-gun Comprehensive Welfare Center, targeting over 40 members of the Community Security Council and workers from public and private social welfare-related organizations.

The 5th Community Security Plan is a mid- to long-term statutory plan for four years from 2023 to 2026, designed for the community residents' social security. It is established in accordance with Article 35 of the Social Security Benefits Act, considering residents' social security needs and welfare resources within the region, tailored to local circumstances.


This training was led by Kim Ga-hee, director of the Regional Balanced Development Center at the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, who helped participants understand the community security plan and strengthen their monitoring capabilities. The session also included education on the operating principles of the Community Security Council.


Yeongyang-gun is pursuing the goal of 'Warm Communication! The Beginning of Change in Yeongyang!' through eight major strategies and 29 detailed projects (including eight key promotion projects), with plans to conduct implementation monitoring throughout September.


Public Chairman O Do-chang stated, “This year marks the first implementation year of the 5th mid- to long-term plan. We hope for active interest and participation from council members and responsible public officials to ensure the community security plan is well executed. Through public-private cooperation, we will strive to successfully carry out projects to improve the social security level of Yeongyang-gun and enhance the quality of life for its residents.”
