Gwangjin-gu Issues 23 Billion Won Worth of Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates for Chuseok

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will issue mobile Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates worth 23 billion KRW in two rounds on the 14th and 21st to celebrate Chuseok.

Record-breaking heavy rain and heat waves during the summer have caused a surge in prices for Chuseok shopping baskets. Ahead of the September Chuseok holiday, the district decided to issue an additional 23 billion KRW worth of Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates to ease the burden on residents amid soaring prices.

The Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates will be issued in two rounds: 8 billion KRW at 10 a.m. on the 14th and 15 billion KRW at 10 a.m. on the 21st, with a 7% discount applied. They will be sold through five dedicated apps: ▲Seoul Pay+ ▲T-money Pay ▲Shinhan SOL ▲Money Tree ▲Shinhan Play.

Each person can purchase up to 500,000 KRW per month and hold up to 1.5 million KRW. The validity period is five years from the date of purchase, and the gift certificates can be used at approximately 10,000 Seoul Pay Plus affiliated stores within Gwangjin-gu.

Earlier, the district issued Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates worth 13 billion KRW for the Lunar New Year holiday in January. The budget for the additional issuance in the second half of the year was secured through the second supplementary budget.

District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “We hope this will be a help to residents shopping for Chuseok and to small business owners who quietly lead the local commercial district during difficult times. Gwangjin-gu will continue to do its best to prepare various policies to revitalize the local economy.”
