First Town Hall Meeting with Members After Inauguration
Leap Forward Based on SKT·SKB Synergy
On the afternoon of the 6th, SK Broadband announced that President Park Jin-hyo held his first town hall meeting since taking office at the SK Broadband headquarters.
President Park said, "Based on the synergy between SK Telecom and SK Broadband (hereinafter T-B), we will focus on a new leap forward for another growth of SK Broadband." He also stated, "As global competition intensifies recently, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) is expanding across industries and daily life," adding, "It is time to lead change and innovation through even stronger T-B synergy than before."
President Park said, "After taking office, I felt that the members have a great willingness to embrace new things and that each business unit has strong competitiveness," and urged innovation in three areas by saying, "Let's pursue sustainable growth through bold attempts and innovation."
First, under 'Customer Value Innovation,' he called for evolution into a 'Life Companion' that shares everyday life with customers. He emphasized that Internet TV (IPTV) is not just a service that shows TV or movie content but should accompany customers from start to finish at home, urging the integration of AI technology to provide services that customers can truly experience and secure competitiveness in the home market.
Next, he emphasized 'Business Model (BM) Innovation' in the business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) sectors. In particular, regarding the data center (DC) business and submarine cable business, which have entered a full-fledged growth phase, he announced plans to achieve substantial growth and become the undisputed top domestic operator through bold investments considering global expansion. He pledged to focus on discovering growth momentum reflecting various future technology trends to secure a mid- to long-term growth foundation.
Lastly, under 'Technology Innovation,' he urged strengthening technological competitiveness to secure market leadership. He said that securing technology-based growth capabilities is crucial for a leap and growth, and by adding technological competitiveness to current businesses and services, they can lay the foundation to dominate future markets such as AI and quantum cryptography.
He also requested the cultivation of a 'Speak Out' culture where members can actively raise issues and express opinions, and added that by combining the meaning of embracing diversity and Broadband's 'Broad,' they should pursue the 'Broad Way.'
Park Jin-hyo, President of SK Broadband, said, "As the CEO and a partner, as well as a fellow colleague, I will take the lead in solving the difficulties the company faces for growth," and added, "Ultimately, through the company's growth, we will build a virtuous cycle structure where members grow and happiness increases."
