This business agreement is being pursued to establish an organic exchange and cooperation foundation between the institutions for the global expansion of Korean films and archival footage.
Through the agreement, the two institutions will mutually cooperate on ▲ the use of their respective materials for international exchange related to Korean films and archival footage ▲ the discovery and promotion of cooperative projects for the global promotion of Korean films and archival footage ▲ and other cultural projects that align with the founding purposes of each institution.
The Film Archive is strengthening its foundation to collect and preserve film and archival footage materials. The Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, based on its operation of overseas correspondents, diagnoses global cultural trends by fostering domestic and international exchange networks and is laying the groundwork for sustainable international cultural exchange.
Previously, the two institutions have jointly conducted several projects even before the agreement, such as co-hosting the Korea-Russia Online Film Festival, and will continue to cooperate for Korean films and international cultural exchange in the future.
Jung Gil-hwa, President of the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, stated, “The two institutions have long cooperated to take the lead in Korean films and international cultural exchange, and this business agreement will serve as a momentum to take a step forward for the global expansion of Korean films and archival footage.”
Kim Hong-jun, President of the Korean Film Archive, said, “I am pleased that this agreement establishes a foundation to utilize the materials held by the Archive not only domestically but also overseas, and I look forward to the two institutions working closely together on many projects.”
