Goseong-gun Hosts Goseong Youth Festival in Celebration of Youth Day

September 16 Highlights the Importance of Protecting Youth Rights and Promoting Youth Development

Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will hold the 'Youth Day Festival' on the 16th from 4 PM to 7 PM at Goseong-gun Sports Park Field 4 in celebration of Youth Day.

Youth Day is designated as a legal commemorative day in 2020 under the 'Youth Basic Act' to raise awareness of the importance of guaranteeing youth rights and youth development, and to increase interest in youth issues. It is observed annually on the third Saturday of September.

This festival is significant as it is organized by the youth of Goseong to celebrate Youth Day and to provide an event that all residents can enjoy together. True to a youth festival, it features unique event productions and, based on a demand survey targeting young people, includes invited performances by popular singers Kim Beom-su and Hong Jin-young, as well as lively performances by various local performance teams, promising to bring together the passion of youth in one place.

In addition, more than 30 different types of spaces will be showcased to enrich the event, including ▲Youth Market ▲Food Area ▲Goseong Exhibition Booth drawn by Artificial Intelligence (AI), among others.

Notably, at the Youth Day festival venue, a video of the Youth Council meeting held by Goseong County Council and Goseong Youth Council members on the 2nd will be screened. This meeting involved resolutions on agenda items proposed at the Youth Assembly in June, aiming to inform residents of the active roles of Goseong youth and to create opportunities for Goseong youth to participate in policy-making, voice their opinions, and communicate with each other.

County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, "This festival is open to all residents, and all they need to bring is their enthusiasm to enjoy it," adding, "Since this event is prepared by the youth, I ask for the encouragement and support of many residents for the youth, who are the central generation leading Goseong-gun."
