From the 6th to the 29th of next month, Rediscovering Modern Hanbok
Suncheon Cultural Foundation in Jeollanam-do (Chairman Noh Kwan-gyu), which manages Suncheon Creative Art Village No. 2, Kim Hye-sun Hanbok Workshop, will hold the exhibition "Clothes Strings Dyed in Autumn Leaves" from the 6th to the 29th of next month.
The exhibition theme features modern hanboks made from dan (緞) fabric woven with the juja weave, allowing visitors to see a variety of hanboks with diverse colors and textures at a glance.
The main exhibited works in this exhibition are dan (緞) made with the juja weave, characterized by a smooth and glossy sheen. Visitors can enjoy the overall beauty of hanbok by viewing various modern hanbok tops and bottoms, as well as traditional accessories, woven in ▲mundan type ▲geumdan type ▲jikgeumdan type weaves.
Additionally, Kim Hye-sun Hanbok Workshop will conduct a community program titled "Hwa-in 花人 Wings" for making kwaeja (a traditional short jacket), consisting of a total of 9 lectures over 4 days from the 9th to the 21st of next month, aimed at the general public to deepen their understanding of hanbok made from sa (紗) fabric.
A representative of the Suncheon Cultural Foundation said, "We hope this exhibition will be an opportunity to bring the beauty of our traditional hanbok closer to visitors in a new way and to promote it. We also hope it will be a chance to newly experience our culture and beauty through traditional hanbok designs and various materials."
Kim Hye-sun Hanbok Workshop at Suncheon Creative Art Village No. 2 (26 Okcheon-gil) operates from Wednesday to Sunday, 10 AM to 7 PM, and the exhibition is free to attend.
