Publication of 'Public Data Explanation-BOOK'

The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kang Seok-jin, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 6th that it has published the 'Public Data Explanation-BOOK' (hereinafter referred to as Explanation-BOOK) to promote private sector utilization through the opening of public data.

As demand for private sector use of public data, such as mobile app development using public data, has increased, SBC opens public data annually to promote data utilization. This year, 36 new datasets were opened, including 'Support Status for Smart Manufacturing Site Funds' and 'Website Visitor Status.'

The newly published Explanation-BOOK contains essential basic information and cases for those who are unfamiliar with public data or want to utilize data but are unsure how to proceed. In particular, it enhances user convenience by publishing the types of data SBC holds and the data opened on the Public Data Portal in the form of an e-book.

The detailed contents include ▲Introduction to the Public Data Portal ▲Overview of SBC’s major projects ▲Explanation of the status of open data by classification system ▲Usage methods by data format ▲Ways to utilize public data ▲Industries excluded from policy fund loans, infrastructure status of the Youth Startup Academy, and more. The Explanation-BOOK is available free of charge to anyone through the SBC website.

Kim Byung-soo, Head of SBC’s Management Headquarters, said, "Through the publication of this Explanation-BOOK, we will continuously open public data desired by the public to contribute to the creation of new private services," adding, "It will contribute to raising public awareness and understanding of public data and promoting the utilization of data held by SBC."
