Gwangju Nam-gu Supports Replacement of Aging Kitchen Facilities in Food Service Establishments

The replacement project for outdated kitchen facilities in food service establishments will be conducted over three months from this month until December.

The target of the replacement project is restaurants that have been operating as general restaurants within the district for more than six months, serving meals.

Restaurants wishing to clean or replace outdated kitchen facilities such as ventilators, hoods, and ducts can download the related documents from the Nam-gu Office website's public notice section and submit them by visiting the 5th floor Health and Hygiene Division of Nam-gu Office, or by mail or fax by the 22nd.

Nam-gu plans to select eligible establishments by verifying the size of the applying business, kitchen condition, and project plan details through on-site inspections and provide support accordingly.

The application criteria prioritize small-scale Chinese restaurants and chicken sales businesses under 100㎡ as the first priority, while establishments that have participated in the restaurant hygiene rating system and safe restaurant projects for food culture improvement are given second priority.

The support amount will cover 80% of the project cost, up to a maximum of 1 million KRW per establishment.

A Nam-gu official stated, "We will do our best to promote related projects to prevent fires through the improvement of outdated kitchen facilities and help increase merchants' sales."
