Kakao Mobility announced on the 5th that it will discuss digital economy cooperation plans with major local platform companies in Indonesia.
Ryu Geung-seon, CEO of Kakao Mobility, will visit Indonesia for four days from the 5th to the 8th. While there, he is scheduled to attend the "Korea-Indonesia Business Roundtable," jointly hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with representatives from over 40 major companies from both countries.
At the same time, he will meet with major local platform companies such as the Indonesian parking platform Soul Parking, travel platform tiket.com, and fintech platform DANA to discuss digital economic cooperation plans.
Soul Parking is a motorcycle-specialized parking platform company optimized for the local traffic environment. The two companies plan to discuss ways to exchange platform-based mobility industry expertise by combining Kakao Mobility’s know-how in platform parking business with Soul Parking’s expertise in the Indonesian market. With tiket.com and DANA, they will discuss joint promotions targeting travelers from both countries, expansion of roaming services, and ways to enhance transportation convenience for visitors from both countries.
Kakao Mobility expects to expand its overseas expansion possibilities by establishing a cooperative system with Indonesian platform companies, following its accompaniment on the Vietnamese presidential visit in June and the Polish presidential visit in July this year.
CEO Ryu said, “The ASEAN market, including Indonesia, is a huge economic zone with a population of 700 million, making it a crucial hub for Korean platform companies’ global expansion. Based on our know-how in building an independent mobility platform domestically, we will help advance the local mobility infrastructure.”
