Incheon Songdo~Gangnam Express Bus, 8 Additional Runs During Commute Hours

The operation of metropolitan buses connecting Incheon Songdo International City and Seoul Gangnam will be expanded.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 5th that starting this month, the number of trips during peak hours for route M6405 (Songdo Well County~Gangnam Station) will be increased by 4 trips each for morning and evening, totaling 8 additional trips per day.

The number of trips during peak hours between Songdo and Gangnam varies by day, but generally exceeds 100 trips per day (one-way basis). With the increase in buses, the interval between buses during the morning peak hours (6-7 AM) will be shortened from 10 minutes to 6 minutes. The interval during the evening peak hours (6-7 PM) will also be reduced from 15 minutes to 10 minutes.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority had previously added 2 charter buses daily due to the increase in passengers on route M6405, but as citizen inconvenience persisted, they have now increased the number of charter buses by 8 additional trips per day.

On the 4th, Kim Jin-yong, head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, visited the Songdo International City bus stop to promote the expanded operation of metropolitan buses and spoke with citizens waiting for the morning bus to listen to their inconveniences. Kim said, "We are doing our best to ensure that citizens can tangibly feel the resolution of transportation inconveniences," and added, "We plan to monitor the expanded operation of metropolitan buses and consider deploying charter buses to areas other than Gangnam."

Meanwhile, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority received 26 complaints regarding transportation inconveniences in the Songdo, Yeongjong, and Cheongna areas over the past two months and forwarded them to relevant departments. They plan to hold a transportation task force meeting in the second half of this year to prepare related countermeasures.
