Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 4th that it is disclosing the meeting processes of various committees on its website GwangsanLIVE.
The district stated that it has switched to a 'principle of disclosure' for meetings of the 118 committees currently in operation.
This plan aims to enhance administrative transparency, fulfill citizens' right to know, and increase trust in district administration.
After obtaining consent forms for the collection, use, and provision of personal information from committee members participating in the committees, the names, positions, terms, and occupations (areas of expertise) of the members will also be broadcast together.
However, some committees and agenda items that are legally or ordinance-wise designated as non-disclosable, as well as agenda items decided to be non-disclosed by a majority vote of the members present due to the nature of the agenda, will be excluded.
Minutes containing the discussion process and results will also be disclosed on the website.
Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, stated, “The disclosure of committee meetings is expected to be an attempt to build strong citizen trust that enables social dialogue for a good community and a sustainable Gwangsan.”
