Youth international exchange is actively taking place in Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk.
According to the county on the 4th, 10 Israeli youths visited the Youth Culture House the previous day and spent time socializing with 15 youths from Imsil-gun.
This event, organized by the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency, was arranged as part of the "Korea-Israel Youth International Exchange Invitation Project" aimed at strengthening youth global competencies and revitalizing exchanges between countries.
The international youth exchange invitation project between countries is designed to cultivate youths' international abilities, foster global leadership, and enhance multicultural acceptance through direct exchanges with youths from other countries in line with the era of globalization.
This visit marks the third this year, following visits last month by 10 youths from Cabo Verde in South America and 10 youths from Guyana in Africa.
The county expects that as communication and activities with youths from other countries become more active, it will serve as an opportunity to raise the global citizenship awareness of youths in the Imsil area.
The event began with a welcoming ceremony, followed by sessions to understand the cultures of the two countries through introductions to Imsil local culture, youth activities, and Israeli culture.
Next, participants experienced traditional Korean archery and cheese pizza making, providing an opportunity to promote Korea’s traditional culture and Imsil’s cheese.
Kim Ji-hyun (high school freshman), who participated in the youth international exchange, said, “There aren’t many opportunities to meet foreign youths, so I was glad that Israeli friends visited the Imsil area, and I enjoyed the time spent together through experiential activities with friends.”
County Governor Shim Min said, “I hope that through youth exchange activities, the youths of the two countries will achieve the goals they aspire to in the future,” and added, “I deeply appreciate the visit to Imsil-gun, the cheese capital of Korea, and hope this will be an opportunity for the county to be known beyond Korea to the world.”
