Chairman Lee Joong-geun Expresses Willingness to Donate On-site

Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do announced that the number of participants in the Hometown Love Donation Program has surpassed 1,300 just eight months after its implementation, with more people joining the donation efforts.

According to the city on the 4th, on the 1st, Lee Joong-geun, chairman of Booyoung Group, expressed his intention to donate to Yeosu City’s Hometown Love Donation Fund at the ‘2023 A Farm Show’ event and signed a letter of intent at the Hometown Love Special Pavilion.

Hosted by Dong-A Ilbo, the ‘2023 A Farm Show - Urban Farming? Returning to Farming Hometown Love Expo,’ held from the 1st to the 3rd at the AT Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, is an event showcasing cases of young farmers and young entrepreneurs creating new jobs based on advanced agriculture.

At the event, Yeosu City promoted the Hometown Love Donation Program by presenting thank-you gifts such as Korean beef gift sets, tofu snack gift sets, Hwangchil mustard kimchi, Romantic Sea seaweed snacks, and Yeosu Night distilled liquor.

The participation of Booyoung Group’s chairman in the donation is expected to further activate the Hometown Love Donation Program as support for Yeosu City’s development gathers momentum alongside mutual donations among local government officials.

The ‘Hometown Love Donation Program’ allows donations to one’s hometown (local government) excluding the place of residence, with an annual donation limit of up to 5 million KRW. Donors can receive tax deductions and thank-you gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount.

Donations can be made through the Hometown Love e-um website or at any NongHyup branch nationwide.
