The Democratic Party says to Yun Mi-hyang at the Chongryon event, "She is unfit to be a member of the National Assembly... should be expelled"

On the 3rd, the People Power Party stated that Yoon Mi-hyang, an independent lawmaker who attended the memorial ceremony for the Korean victims of the Great Kanto Earthquake massacre hosted by the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), should be expelled from the National Assembly.

Kang Min-kook, the chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, said in a statement, "A member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, who receives the people's tax money, entered Japan with the help of our government and stood shoulder to shoulder with an organization that threatens the very existence of the Republic of Korea." He questioned, "Is it really appropriate to recognize such a lawmaker as a member of Korea?"

Spokesperson Kang emphasized, "Yoon does not have the qualifications to be a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea," and urged, "The National Assembly must protect liberal democracy by expelling Yoon, who has threatened the nation alongside anti-state forces."

He continued, "While the Democratic Party of Korea cannot say a word against Yoon, they instead turned their criticism toward the president," and criticized, "They even revealed an absurd perception by saying, 'Where exactly is the communist totalitarian force in 21st century Korea?'"

Targeting the Democratic Party, Kang questioned, "How will they explain not only Yoon, who was with anti-state organizations, but also her husband who was punished under the National Security Act?" He added, "How will they explain Yoon’s former aide, who is suspected of meeting with North Korean agents overseas, and the former aide of Democratic Party lawmaker Seol Hoon, who is suspected of leaking military secrets?"

He said, "Even as numerous spy ring cases have been revealed this year alone, the Democratic Party still denies reality and talks about 'ideological debates,' for which they owe the people a hundred apologies." He added, "Ultimately, the complacent attitude that has continued since the previous administration has allowed anti-state forces threatening the Republic of Korea to run rampant."
