Gyeonggi Office of Education to Operate Legal Support Team from September to Address Teacher Rights Violations Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will operate a legal support team starting in September to respond to issues infringing on educational activities.

The Office announced on the 3rd that it has formed the 'SOS! Gyeonggi Education Legal Support Team' to provide dedicated lawyers from this month to protect teachers from malicious criminal accusations, complaints, and reports.

Earlier, Superintendent Lim Tae-hee of Gyeonggi Province pledged immediate implementation of this project through the announcement of a comprehensive plan to protect educational activities.

Support is provided by calling the hotline '1600-8787' when an infringement on educational activities occurs, and the regional Gyeonggi Teacher Rights Protection Support Centers will offer legal services.

The legal support includes ▲ covering attorney fees for teachers harmed by criminal accusations, complaints, or reports ▲ accompaniment by lawyers during investigations and inquiries ▲ and other legal assistance.

Even if individuals hire their own lawyers, attorney fees will be prepaid within the budget limits.

Seo Eun-kyung, Director of the Life and Character Education Division at the Office of Education, promised, "We will operate the SOS! Gyeonggi Education Legal Support Team to respond promptly to infringements on educational activities and provide swift legal services."
