On the 1st at 4 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the '2023 Yeonhui Madangnori "Madeul·Bbaengpa"' held at the gymnasium of Seoul National University of Science and Technology.

The Yeonhui Madangnori "Madeul·Bbaengpa" is a sound performance play that reinterprets the story from the perspective of Bbaengdeok Eomeom, a character from the classic "Simcheongjeon," titled "Bbaengpajeon." This work notably incorporates various traditional performance elements, starting with a gilnori (a street parade signaling the beginning of the event), followed by gugak pieces such as Ibyeolga and Bangatareong, as well as fan dance and Jindo drum dance.

The cast of Madeul·Bbaengpa includes Yoon Moon-sik as Sim Bong-sa and Choi Ju-bong as Hwang Bong-sa. Kim Kyung-sook, a theater actress, plays Bbaengpa, and Lee Song-mi, a designated holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 41, Songseoyulchang, performs as Simcheong. Following the performance on the 1st, another show is scheduled for 4 PM on the 2nd at the same venue.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, "We prepared the Madangnori performance for the elderly who find cultural activities challenging," adding, "We will continue to carefully provide cultural and leisure welfare that invigorates the lives of our senior citizens."
