Im Tae-hee, Gyeonggi Superintendent of Education, "Teachers' Wishes Lead to the Amendment of the Teacher's Rights Protection Act" Im Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, is delivering a greeting at the 2nd meeting of the four-party consultative body of ruling party, opposition party, government, and metropolitan and provincial superintendents held at the National Assembly on the 1st.

Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated on the 1st at the National Assembly's Education Committee Bill Review Subcommittee that the passage of bills related to the protection of teachers' rights, including the amendment to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, "connects the hearts and aspirations of teachers to the revision of laws."


Superintendent Lim Tae-hee attended the 2nd meeting of the four-party consultative body consisting of the ruling and opposition parties, the government, and provincial superintendents held at the National Assembly that morning, and emphasized, "The amendment of laws and institutional reforms are the starting point and basic framework for changes in the field."


At the meeting, the results of the review of the amendment bills related to the restoration and strengthening of teachers' rights, which were submitted through the Education Committee Bill Subcommittee on the 31st of last month, were announced.


Superintendent Lim expressed gratitude, saying, "I appreciate the National Assembly for carrying out an unprecedentedly swift legislative process to protect teachers' educational activities," and added, "I ask that the final legislative procedures be completed promptly as well."


He continued, "The Office of Education will also do its best for the amendment of other laws under the jurisdiction of different standing committees, such as the Child Welfare Act and the Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes," and added, "We will closely cooperate with the Ministry of Education and meticulously prepare follow-up measures."


In particular, he said, "The hearts and aspirations of teachers who have worked hard in the heat and rain have been connected to the amendment of laws, and protective measures for educational activities have been promptly established," and urged, "Let us work together to swiftly carry out the maintenance of administrative regulations and the establishment of field systems so that substantial changes in the field accompany these efforts."


He also emphasized, "The amendment of laws and institutional reforms are not a panacea; effectiveness can only be achieved through cooperation and effort in the field," and said, "Let us work together to protect the normal educational activities of teachers, create schools where students respect teachers and teachers respect students."


Meanwhile, the meeting was attended by Superintendent Lim Tae-hee, Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, Kim Cheol-min, Chairman of the National Assembly Education Committee, Lee Tae-gyu, Whip of the People Power Party, Kim Young-ho, Whip of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.
