Available for Purchase Online at Yes24 Ticket and Offline at Busan Bank
Busan City and the Busan Culture and Tourism Festival Organizing Committee will officially start selling paid seats for the ‘18th Busan Fireworks Festival’ on November 4th from 2 PM on the 1st.
The ‘Busan Fireworks Festival’ began in 2005 as part of the APEC Summit commemorative events and has since become a premier festival representing Busan, attracting over one million visitors annually. This year marks its 18th edition.
Especially this year, the event will be held at a time just before the decision on hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo, and it is expected to open spectacularly, reflecting the citizens’ hopes for the Expo bid.
Paid seats for the fireworks festival are divided into R seats, which come with tables and chairs, and S seats, which provide chairs only. There are 1,000 R seats and 5,000 S seats available, priced at 100,000 KRW and 70,000 KRW respectively.
Tickets can be purchased through the official sales agent, ‘Yes24 Ticket.’ Offline sales are available at all branches of Busan Bank, but only S seats can be purchased offline.
Earlier, the early bird tickets sold on August 23rd were sold out in about five minutes, demonstrating high interest. This year, inquiries from inbound travel agencies have surged, and the proportion of foreign tourists is expected to be higher than before the pandemic.
Inbound refers to foreign nationals traveling within Korea, while outbound refers to Koreans traveling abroad.
All proceeds from the fireworks festival ticket sales will be invested in expanding the fireworks displays, enhancing visitor convenience and safety facilities, and creating jobs through hiring new security and guidance personnel, all aimed at improving the quality of the festival.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “As the Busan Fireworks Festival is a representative festival of Busan, we prepare thoroughly every year to accommodate large crowds, and last year, despite the cold wave, it was held safely and successfully.” He added, “This year as well, we will do our utmost to ensure that all visitors can safely enjoy the festival.”
He also emphasized, “With the final announcement on hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo coming this November, we will showcase Busan’s passionate bid through the Busan Fireworks Festival, which will serve as the grand finale of our efforts, and strive to successfully secure the World Expo.”
