According to the post, the management office of the apartment in Gyeonggi-do raised the parking fees by up to 6.7 times compared to the previous rates.

The original parking fees at this apartment were: one vehicle free, two vehicles 20,000 KRW, three vehicles 50,000 KRW, and four vehicles 80,000 KRW.

In the recent fee restructuring, the apartment maintained the existing fees for one and two vehicles. However, for three vehicles, the fee increased sharply from 50,000 KRW to 270,000 KRW, and for four vehicles, from 80,000 KRW to 620,000 KRW.

Most netizens who learned about this situation praised the management office, calling it an "excellent choice."

They commented, "These days, even owning one vehicle makes parking difficult, so this seems good," "It appears necessary in multi-family housing," and "Households with three or four vehicles cause a lot of inconvenience to others."

On the other hand, some netizens responded with remarks such as "The fees have gone too far," and "It's unfair to increase fees without prior notice." Another netizen suggested that the sudden parking fee hike is because "residents charge outsiders to register their vehicles."

According to current law, the parking lot installation standard requires an average of at least one parking space per household (or 0.7 spaces per household if the exclusive area per household is 60㎡ or less). This standard has been maintained for 27 years since its revision in 1996.

However, the number of registered vehicles has steadily increased, reaching a cumulative total of 25,757,201 vehicles as of the end of June this year. This represents a 1% increase compared to the end of last year (25,503,078 vehicles).

Considering that the domestic resident population was 51,392,745 as of June this year, this means that one out of every 1.99 people owns a vehicle.
