District to Conduct Tax Metaverse Utilization Capacity Building Training from the 5th in Response to the Digital Transformation Era... Tax Management Department Staff to Serve as One-Day Teachers for Experiential Education Tailored to Residents' Perspectives
In the digital age, Seocho-gu is launching an educational initiative to encourage residents to actively use tax administration services through the metaverse.
Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the 'Seocho Tax Metaverse Tax Station Experience and Utilization Training' for about 100 residents starting from the 5th.
The district's 'Tax Station' is a new tax service that uses the metaverse to provide tax consultations, tax lectures, and guidance without being restricted by time and space.
This training aims to increase accessibility and usability of the 'Tax Station,' which has been operating since June. So far, it has recorded about 1,100 visitors and over 1,800 views of classroom training videos, receiving great responses. It is especially designed to facilitate smooth use by those aged 60 and above who are not familiar with using computers.
The training will be held free of charge in a total of 8 sessions until the 21st of this month, each lasting 2 hours as daily lectures, and will take place at the Seocho-gu IT Education Center (4th floor of Banpo 1-dong Community Center) and Naegok Neutinamu Rest Area (1st floor Senior IT Experience Zone).
The training content includes ▲ introduction to metaverse functions, ▲ hands-on experience with key Tax Station features, ▲ live talk show with professional tax accountants, and ▲ virtual space O·X quizzes, among various lectures.
The instructors are staff from the Seocho-gu Tax Management Division, conducting experiential classes tailored to residents' perspectives in groups.
During the Tax Station experience time, participants will learn about customized tax lectures in virtual space, experience the tax consultation room that resolves tax questions, and receive guidance on local tax information through real-time chat.
Additionally, a live video talk show with professional tax accountants will be held to answer tax-related questions. Five tax accountants active as 'Village Tax Accountants' in the district will participate in rotation for each session.
Through this training, the district expects to activate new communication channels using virtual space and strengthen residents' digital capabilities in line with the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
Applications are prioritized for those aged 55 and over but are open to all Seocho-gu residents. Registration is possible via the Seocho-gu Office website or by phone until 5 p.m. the day before each session.
The district is making various efforts to ensure no residents are left out of tax services, including ▲ regional 'Visiting Tax Explanation Sessions,' ▲ personalized close consultations called 'Tax Concern Resolution Day' held on the first Saturday of every month, and ▲ publication of the booklet 'Local Tax Knowledge That Is Helpful to Know.'
Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “Through the tax metaverse training, I hope residents will freely use 'Tax Station,' Seocho-gu’s innovative and practical communication channel, without restrictions of time and space.”
