Song Kang-ho, Ha Jung-woo, and Kang Dong-won Appear for Chuseok

Spiderweb, Cheonbaksa, Boston, Released Side by Side on September 27

Three Korean films will be released simultaneously in theaters during Chuseok.

On the 31st, Barunson E&A announced that 'Spiderweb' (director Kim Ji-woon) will be released on September 27, and CJ ENM announced the release of 'Exorcist Cheon: The Secret of the Snowy Scene' (director Kim Sung-sik) on the same date. Along with Lotte Entertainment's '1947 Boston' (director Kang Je-gyu), which had already been lined up for release, these three films will meet audiences side by side.

'Spiderweb' humorously depicts the story of Director Kim (Song Kang-ho), who believes that changing only the ending of the completed film 'Spiderweb' from the 1970s will make it a masterpiece, pushing forward with filming in a chaotic environment filled with censorship, actors and producers who do not understand the altered content, and a situation on the brink of madness.

Director Kim Ji-woon, who directed films such as 'A Tale of Two Sisters' (2003), 'A Bittersweet Life' (2005), and 'The Good, the Bad, the Weird' (2008), took the helm. This marks the reunion of Director Kim and actor Song Kang-ho after seven years since 'The Age of Shadows' (2016).

Song Kang-ho plays Director Kim, anchoring the story, with Im Soo-jung, Oh Jung-se, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Jung Soo-jung also starring. The film was invited to the non-competitive section of the 76th Cannes Film Festival this year.

'Exorcist Cheon: The Secret of the Snowy Scene' tells the story of Cheon, a fake exorcist (Kang Dong-won) who does not believe in ghosts but possesses ghost-like insight, who is commissioned to handle an unprecedentedly powerful case. Kang Dong-won plays the lead role as the fake exorcist Cheon.

The film is an adaptation of the Naver webtoon 'Possession.' Although initially introduced under the title 'Possession,' the title was finalized as 'Exorcist Cheon: The Secret of the Snowy Scene' ahead of its release.

Attention is focused on whether Kang Dong-won and the production company Oyu Naegang, which led the summer hit 'Smugglers' with 5 million viewers, will create synergy. The cast includes Kang Dong-won, Heo Jun-ho, Esom, Lee Dong-hwi, and Kim Jong-soo.

Actors Ha Jung-woo and Im Si-wan return as marathon runners Son Ki-jeong and Seo Yun-bok. The film '1947 Boston,' adapted from a true story, depicts the challenging and inspiring journey of marathon runners aiming to compete internationally for the first time after Korea's liberation in 1947, proudly wearing the Taegeuk mark.

Ha Jung-woo portrays Son Ki-jeong, the gold medalist at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and Im Si-wan plays Seo Yun-bok, the national representative at the 1947 Boston Marathon. Director Kang Je-gyu, known for films such as 'Shiri' (1999) and 'Taegukgi' (2004), directs the film.

The film will also be screened in IMAX format. Through CGI (special effects) work, the production is determined to realistically capture the racing course and scale of the 1947 Boston Marathon.
