Hampyeong-gun Model Case Presentation... Resolution and Discussion of Jeonnam City and County Policy Proposals

Hampyeong County held the 7th regular meeting of the 8th term Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Council.

According to the county on the 30th, the 7th regular meeting of the 8th term Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Council was held the previous day at Hampyeong Ellice CC, where heads and deputy heads of 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam attended to discuss current issues facing the cities and counties.

The meeting proceeded with a greeting from Park Woo-ryang, the council chairman and mayor of Sinan County, a welcome speech by Lee Sang-ik, mayor of Hampyeong County, followed by the presentation of commemorative gifts, a promotional video of Hampyeong County and a presentation of exemplary cases, resolution of policy proposals, and discussion of current issues.

In particular, Hampyeong County presented a case of exemplary practice where a long-abandoned building, whose construction had been halted, was demolished ex officio, receiving great acclaim from the Jeonnam mayors and county governors.

Mayor Lee Sang-ik said in his welcome speech, “We are leading the creation of a hopeful Hampyeong by hosting seasonal festivals, fostering future industries, and improving living conditions,” adding, “I hope this meaningful occasion will serve to explore directions for the development of Jeonnam through mutual cooperation.”

Meanwhile, at the meeting, 11 agenda items including the proposal to upgrade Yeosu Airport to a hub airport and extend the runway were deliberated, and the reviewed agenda items will be submitted to Jeollanam-do and the National Council of Mayors and County Governors for prompt implementation.
