Kim Junhyung, President of POSCO Future M, participates in the 'Single-Use Product Zero (Zero) Challenge.'
The Single-Use Product Zero Challenge is a relay campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment in February, aimed at reducing the use of single-use products in daily life and increasing the use of reusable products. Participants take photos showing actions to reduce single-use products to zero and upload them online, then nominate the next participant.
Kim Junhyung, President of POSCO Future M, stated, "As a leading company in eco-friendly future materials, we will actively participate in reducing single-use product usage together with our employees," adding, "We will also continue efforts to establish an eco-friendly management system, including expanding the use of renewable energy."
President Kim joined the challenge upon the nomination of Kim Yooshin, President of OCI. He nominated Kim Byunghoon, CEO of EcoPro Materials, and Lee Sangam, CEO of Chosun Refractories, as the next participants.
Employees of POSCO Future M actively use reusable items such as tumblers and mugs to reduce single-use product consumption at the workplace. They also voluntarily select and practice tasks such as 'reducing standby power' and 'taking the stairs' as part of the 'Corporate Citizen Challenge,' leading environmental protection efforts.
Additionally, POSCO Future M is expanding the introduction of solar power generation facilities at its sites with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality in battery materials by 2035. The company is also actively promoting the transition to low-carbon fuels and improving energy efficiency through process enhancements.
