Im Tae-hee, Gyeonggi Superintendent of Education, "Stopping Student Classes for Teacher Rights Is Not Acceptable" Im Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (right), is speaking at the meeting between the Minister of Education and Superintendents of Metropolitan and Provincial Offices of Education held at the Seoul Government Complex on the 29th.

Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, emphasized that "stopping student classes for the sake of teacher rights cannot be justified under any circumstances" in relation to the teachers' rally scheduled for Monday, September 4.

On the 29th, Superintendent Lim stated at a meeting between the Minister of Education and metropolitan and provincial superintendents held at the Seoul Government Complex, "We are discussing alternative times and methods for the memorial on September 4."

The meeting was attended by Superintendent Lim, Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and superintendents from 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education.

At the meeting, Superintendent Lim said, "We need to take this opportunity to improve the long-accumulated issue of teacher rights violations," adding, "All members of the educational community and the public are closely watching this process regarding the protection of educational activities."

However, he added, "Interpreting support for the September 4 rally as participation in the restoration of teacher rights, and non-attendance as opposition to it, is not an educationally appropriate direction."

He also emphasized the need for a shared understanding of restoring teacher rights, saying, "I hope that the Ministry of Education, the National Assembly, metropolitan and provincial superintendents, and teachers in the field do not diverge in their approach to this issue."
