KT announced on the 29th that it will collaborate with Incheon International Airport Corporation to discover smart airport services based on 5G private networks and advanced information technology (IT). The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) centered on this content the day before.
KT has extensive experience in specialized consulting for artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation (DX), as well as in the construction and operation of 5G private networks. Incheon International Airport Corporation is a public enterprise that operates Incheon International Airport, which leads global airports and provides smart services based on advanced information technology (IT). KT and Incheon International Airport Corporation plan to jointly research strategies for the introduction and expansion of smart services through 5G private networks based on each other's competitiveness.

KT and Incheon International Airport Corporation expect to present the technical stability of 5G private networks and establish directions and plans for the development of future smart airports utilizing 5G private networks. They also plan to discover smart airport services that can utilize new technologies such as AI, big data, and cloud through joint research.
Jeon Hyung-wook, Head of Infrastructure Division at Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, “Through joint research on future smart airports based on 5G private networks, we will review the feasibility of introducing 5G private networks and examine more efficient services that can be provided to passengers and airport workers in airport operations and facility management.”
Kim Jun-ho, Executive Director of KT’s Public/Financial Customer Division, said, “Through joint research with Incheon Airport, which provides world-class smart services, we will present the technical feasibility of 5G private networks and actively support KT’s DX capabilities to suggest directions for the development of future smart airports.”
