Doosan Logistics Solution (DLS) announced on the 29th that it has secured the second expansion project of Nike Korea's logistics center, 'Nike Icheon CSC (Customer Service Center)'.

This order is a follow-up project to the first expansion of Nike Icheon CSC, which was secured in 2021. It marks the largest order amount in DLS's history. DLS will provide a comprehensive logistics automation solution, from design to the establishment of automated equipment and the installation of the Warehouse Control System (WCS).

The second expansion project will feature the tallest shuttle rack in Asia at 26 meters, with a storage capacity of 200,000 boxes. Upon completion in the first half of 2026, the total storage capacity of Nike Icheon CSC will reach 400,000 boxes, making it the largest in Korea, and the logistics volume is expected to increase approximately 3.5 times compared to before the expansion.

The key automation products and technologies supplied by DLS for this project include ▲ OSR shuttle ▲ conveyor ▲ WCS.

The OSR shuttle from Knapp, the global No.1 in shuttle-type storage systems, moves in two directions?longitudinal and lateral?enabling fast and efficient storage and retrieval of goods. The gripper that picks up items automatically adjusts to handle various sizes of products with a single shuttle and can move items weighing up to 50 kg. Additionally, the fork that extracts boxes is longer than that of typical shuttles, allowing one shuttle to handle up to four boxes. Precise shuttle software design optimizes box placement by considering the order sequence.

The conveyor works in conjunction with the shuttle to arrange the order of goods exiting the shuttle rack for quick and accurate shipment. The WCS is software that integrates and controls all equipment in the logistics center, managing the overall flow to optimize logistics volume. Furthermore, DLS plans to build an interface so that its software can interoperate with the existing Warehouse Management System (WMS) used by Nike Korea.

A DLS representative stated, “DLS possesses capabilities across the entire logistics automation spectrum, from consulting and design to system integration. Recently, we have gained recognition for our expertise and reliability not only from distribution and e-commerce clients but also from manufacturing sectors.” He added, “We will continue to expand orders by supplying cutting-edge logistics automation systems and smart factory solutions optimized for each client’s needs.”
