Filming at Seoul Attractions Related to the Subtopic
The Seoul Museum of History announced on the 29th that it has produced an English audiobook to widely promote the history of Seoul to foreigners and has released it through YouTube.
This English audiobook was produced based on the fully translated English version of 'SEOUL A Journey through 2000 Years of History,' which is the English translation of '2000 Years of Seoul History for Citizens,' published in 2009 to inform citizens about the 2000-year history of Seoul.
In particular, to attract the interest and curiosity of foreign viewers, sections explaining the historical origins of popular Seoul tourist attractions frequently visited by foreigners were selected and produced as an audiobook. The audiobook features beautiful and dynamic scenes of Seoul’s landmarks such as ▲Hangang River ▲Pungnaptoseong ▲Palaces ▲Seoul’s Mountains ▲Bukchon Hanok Village ▲Gwangjang Market ▲Gyeongui Line Forest Park ▲Department Stores ▲War Memorial ▲Gangnam Shopping District, which are used as background visuals for the audiobook, distinguishing it from other audiobook content.
The English audiobook features approximately 5-minute episodes, narrated by professional English voice actors with soothing background music, beautiful historical scenery of Seoul, and English subtitles, making it easily accessible not only to foreigners but also to citizens interested in Seoul’s history.
Starting from the 18th of this month, two episodes will be released monthly, with a total of 10 episodes provided sequentially until the end of this year. The content will be available for free on the institution’s YouTube channel ‘Seoul Museum of History’ and the Seoul Museum of History website.
Lee Sang-bae, Director of the Seoul Museum of History, said, “We have been considering many ways to introduce Seoul’s history to foreigners,” and added, “We hope this comprehensive content, combining accurate audio information about Seoul’s history and beautiful scenic videos of Seoul, will be widely used by foreigners.”
