Ottogi Launches Two Types of 'Regional Spicy Gukbap' for a Hot and Flavorful Experience

The newly introduced dadaegi-concept 'Regional Spicy Gukbap' was developed considering that many people enjoy adding dadaegi to 'Sundaegukbap' and 'Dwaejigukbap' at restaurants to make them spicier. It allows consumers to conveniently enjoy spicy gukbap as a home meal replacement (HMR) without having to prepare seasonings or ingredients separately, just like eating at a gukbap specialty restaurant.

The new products consist of two types: 'Busan-style Spicy Dwaejigukbap' and 'Byeongcheon-style Spicy Sundaegukbap,' both made with a rich and spicy pork bone broth base. The Busan-style Spicy Dwaejigukbap features a broth enriched with plenty of boiled pork slices, creating a deep and rich flavor, and uses pork belly and shoulder cuts to bring out a savory taste and tender texture. The Byeongcheon-style Spicy Sundaegukbap includes a generous amount of mild Byeongcheon Sundae, osorigamtu (pork stomach), and pork shoulder cuts, which are known to pair best with pork bone broth. Unlike regular sundae, Byeongcheon Sundae uses cow and pig intestines, resulting in less off-flavor and a clean, chewy texture with various vegetables added.

An Ottogi representative stated, "Reflecting consumer demand for adding dadaegi to gukbap to enhance spiciness and a clean taste, we have launched new regional spicy gukbap products that eliminate the hassle of adding dadaegi separately. We hope consumers enjoy these hearty and convenient spicy gukbap filled with boiled pork and Byeongcheon Sundae."
