Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest Donates 40 Million Won to Gwangjin-gu...Up to 1 Million Won Support for Households Affected by Heatwaves and Cold Snaps
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held a fund transfer ceremony on the 28th with the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest to promote the ‘Community Safety Line Protection Support Project’.
About 10 officials attended the ceremony, including Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, Kim Jae-rok, President of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest, and Kim Seok-hoe, Chairman of the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation.
The ‘Safety Line Protection Support Project’ is designed to quickly respond to low-income vulnerable groups and crisis households in welfare blind spots, which have increased due to the economic downturn, to resolve emergency situations and help maintain daily life.
The project budget totals 40 million KRW, and the project period is from August to February next year. The support targets are crisis households within 120% of the median income, with priority given to households affected by heatwaves and cold waves.
Support ranges from 400,000 KRW per person to a maximum of 1 million KRW for a four-person household, and applications can be made through the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I sincerely thank the President of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest and all related officials,” adding, “We will continue to actively identify crisis households below the safety line in our community and provide multifaceted support so that vulnerable residents can maintain their daily lives and receive practical help.”
