Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar Confirms Recovery
Conducting Follow-up Operations
Ukraine announced on the 28th (local time) that it has recaptured the Robotyne settlement in the southern Zaporizhzhia region, which had been occupied by Russia, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, stated on the same day, "We have liberated Robotyne," and that follow-up operations are underway. This follows last week’s announcement that Ukrainian forces had raised their flag in Robotyne and were conducting mop-up operations against the remaining enemy forces.
Robotyne is located about 20 km north of Tokmak, a road and railway hub in Zaporizhzhia. Tokmak, situated 50 km southwest, could serve as a key bridgehead for the assault on Melitopol.
By recapturing Robotyne, Ukrainian forces explained that they have broken through Russia’s strongest defensive line in the southern region. Deputy Minister Maliar also reported that Ukrainian troops occupying Robotyne are advancing further south toward the village of Mala Tokmachka. Additionally, she mentioned that about 1 km² south of Bakhmut in the eastern Donetsk region was retaken last week.
However, on the eastern front, Russian counterattacks have intensified, and Ukrainian forces still appear to be on the defensive. Deputy Minister Maliar described last week’s battles in the eastern Kharkiv region as "very fierce," noting that Russia is deploying elite troops to that front and reorganizing its forces.
