Operation of New Second Half Year Sports Classes in Gwangjin-gu... Expansion of Sports Programs Including Inline Skating and Climbing Starting This September
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has launched new community sports classes to support healthy leisure activities such as inline skating and climbing.
The Gwangjin-gu community sports classes offer a variety of programs including badminton, tennis, gateball, and futsal. This year, unique courses like the "Gwangjin Running Crew" and "Achasan Night Trekking" received great responses.
Additionally, the range of activities for the second half of the year has been expanded to provide more opportunities for community sports. Inline skating, rock climbing (climbing), skateboarding, and the popular "Running Crew" from the first half of the year for office workers will also be offered.
First, an inline skating class for elementary school students will be held. To help the muscle development of growing children, the inline skating course will take place every Saturday starting from the 2nd of next month at Ttukseom Hangang Park.
Also, a climbing class will be operated starting September 6. Designed for active hobbies enjoyed by young adults in their 20s to 40s, the climbing class will be held every Wednesday at the artificial rock wall in Ttukseom Hangang Park, where participants can learn climbing techniques and build physical strength.
Moreover, from September 7, there will be a night running crew running through the city, and in October, a skateboarding class led by a former national team instructor will be available. All classes offered by the community sports program are free to join.
Those wishing to enroll can apply online through the district website by the 31st of this month. Inline skating classes will be selected by computer lottery, while climbing and running crew classes will be on a first-come, first-served basis. For detailed information such as the number of participants per session, please refer to the website. Note that skateboarding registration will open in September.
District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "We have prepared various programs to provide opportunities for healthy physical activities and to invigorate the daily lives of residents," and added, "We will continue to promote community sports so that everyone can enjoy the pleasure of exercise without burden."
