Shinan-gun Youth Participation Committee Achieves Success in 'Youth Social Participation Presentation Contest'

County Governor Park Woo-ryang: "We Will Actively Support Various Activities of Youth"

The Youth Participation Committee of Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, won the Governor of Jeollanam-do Award in the group category and the Superintendent of Education Award in the individual category at the ‘2023 Jeollanam-do Youth Social Participation Presentation Contest’ hosted by Jeollanam-do and the Jeollanam-do Youth Future Foundation on the 25th.

According to the county on the 28th, the Jeollanam-do Youth Social Participation Presentation Contest was organized to provide opportunities for youth to participate as members of the local community by proposing policies and solutions necessary for changes in the Jeollanam-do community.

In Sinan-gun, four teams from the Youth Participation Committee participated and proposed policies including △a mentoring support project for multicultural youth and Korean youth to adapt to school life (individual) △expansion of installation of resource circulation robots (Nephron) within the province (We Were Discarded and Picked Up Team) △exploration of AI-related career paths and expansion of education (Sinan AIs Team) △installation of preventive devices and enhancement of preventive education to prevent school violence (Right Living Team).

The We Were Discarded and Picked Up Team, Sinan AIs Team, and Right Living Team received the Governor of Jeollanam-do Award, and an individual student participant received the Superintendent of Education Award, earning high praise for their excellent proposals.

County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “I was deeply moved that the youth actively showed interest and participation in various social issues happening around them,” and added, “We will continue to actively support diverse activities so that Sinan can become a happy community created together with youth.”
