Focus on 'Natural Disaster Recovery and Stability of Military Residents' Life'
Hampyeong County has prepared a second supplementary budget of 616 billion won and submitted it to the county council.
According to the county on the 28th, the second supplementary budget submitted this time amounts to 616 billion won, an increase of 39.4 billion won (6.84%) compared to the first supplementary budget of 576.6 billion won, with the general account increased by 37.6 billion won and the special account by 1.8 billion won respectively.
This supplementary budget was organized focusing on policy projects closely related to residents to realize the vision of the 8th elected term, "A New Leap, Hopeful Hampyeong."
In particular, emphasis was placed on supporting vulnerable groups affected by increases in public utility charges such as electricity bills, and on recovery from natural disasters including wildfires, floods, and heatwaves.
The main projects in the second supplementary budget include ▲ 2 billion won for the expansion and paving construction of Jungang-ro in Hampyeong-eup (from Nonghyup Central Association to Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation) ▲ 1.05 billion won for incentives supporting the shipment of 2023 general rice ▲ 880 million won for road and small stream flood damage recovery ▲ 680 million won for permanent restoration of wildfire damage ▲ 920 million won for disaster recovery in towns and townships.
County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “Despite the difficult financial conditions expected due to decreased tax revenue, we have focused the supplementary budget on projects for the future development of Hampyeong County and the improvement of residents’ welfare. We will continue to do our best in financial management for the residents.”
Meanwhile, the second supplementary budget submitted by the county is expected to be finalized on the 14th of next month after review by the county council.
