Lee Jae-myung "Not Financial Supervisory Service but Financial Political Institute"
In relation to the Financial Supervisory Service's announcement that there were preferential redemptions for influential figures such as multi-term members of the National Assembly before the large-scale suspension of redemptions of the Lime fund, Kim Sang-hee, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who was named as a suspect in the preferential treatment allegations, stated that she would hold someone accountable, asking, "Why did you specifically instruct to announce the names of multi-term members of the National Assembly so clearly?"
On the 28th, through a statement on her social media, Kim said, "Was this the director's own judgment, or was there someone else's instigation?"
Previously, the Financial Supervisory Service announced that there were preferential redemptions for influential figures such as multi-term members of the National Assembly before the Lime fund redemption suspension, and Kim was identified as one of the beneficiaries. However, Kim stated, "I entrusted my assets to Mirae Asset, the brokerage firm involved, and suffered losses worth tens of millions of won, but I never engaged in preferential redemptions," and declared that she would hold the Financial Supervisory Service legally responsible.
Kim said, "Knowing that this is far from the essence of the Financial Supervisory Service's investigation, why was Kim Sang-hee put at the forefront? Clearly disclose the intention behind such instructions. I will definitely hold accountable those responsible for the political manipulation that undermined the independence and fairness of the Financial Supervisory Service."
Meanwhile, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, also met with reporters at the National Assembly on the same day and said regarding this matter, "It is not the Financial Supervisory Service but the Financial Political Service," adding, "Director Lee will be held strictly accountable for this."
