"Exploring Strategies to Revitalize Broadcasting and Video Content Production"
The Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum (Chairman Kim Chi-yong, Director of External Cooperation at Dong-Eui University) held the "1st Global Broadcasting and Video Symposium" on the 25th at the Busan Design Promotion Agency.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the forum's establishment, the event was hosted by the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum and Busan City, and co-organized by the Korea Multimedia Society. Attendees included Kim Chi-yong, Chairman of the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum; Lee Sung-kwon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Busan City; Noh Yoon-sook, Head of the Video Content Industry Division of Busan City; Yang Hong-seon, Director of KBS Busan Broadcasting Headquarters; Kang Pil-hyun, Director of the Busan Design Promotion Agency; faculty and students from Kyungsung Electronics High School and Busan Video Arts High School; forum advisory committee members and lead professors from companies and universities, totaling over 200 participants.
The 1st Global Broadcasting and Video Symposium of the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum is being held.
At the event, Kim Kwang-myung, Chair of the Planning and Finance Committee of the Busan Metropolitan Council, delivered congratulatory remarks via video, and Roy Alok Kumar, Director of Multicultural Research at Busan Multicultural International School and former Secretary General of the Busan International Exchange Foundation, gave the keynote speech.
Following this, lectures were given by Timothy Jung (Jeong Hyeong-su), Chair Professor at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK and a leading expert in the metaverse field; film director Kwon Soo-kyung (director of Barefoot Ki-bong, Brother, etc.); MBN CP Kwon Oh-yong (director of Voice Queen, Golden Egg, etc.); Park Soo-hyun, Head of the MICE Industry Division at the International Newspaper; and creator Jung Jae-hyung (SBS 13th Public Recruitment Comedian).
Kim Chi-yong, Chairman of the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum, said, "Today's symposium is a valuable opportunity to understand the rapidly changing new trends in broadcasting and video fields and the overall societal flow led by AI, and to explore these developments." He added, "I hope that the new and creative ideas and insights presented by experts will help create a better media culture and future."
The Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum was established on September 19, 2003, with the purpose of promoting a network among industry, academia, government, and research institutions for the development of the video culture industry in the Busan region. More than 100 experts and professionals related to broadcasting and video content participate in the forum.
The Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum and the Busan Center of the Korea Communications Agency will accept submissions for the "18th Busan Video Contest" from September 1 to October 8, covering all topics related to Busan such as △2030 Busan World Expo bid activities △efforts to overcome the climate crisis △culture, arts, tourism, and marine themes.
