The city of Anyang in Gyeonggi Province will hold a public hearing for the reestablishment of its landscape plan on September 6th at the lifelong education center auditorium on the 3rd floor in Dongan-gu.
This public hearing is organized to gather and reflect the opinions of experts and citizens during the process of creating a mid- to long-term plan for the systematic management and preservation of Anyang’s natural, historical, and cultural resources.
The hearing will proceed with a progress report on the draft reestablishment of the landscape plan, followed by expert discussions and a Q&A session.
The panel discussion will be chaired by Yuwan-jong, CEO of Junwon Landscape Center, with panelists including Professor Bae Yong-jin of Hanyang Women’s University and Kim Gil-yong, president of the Anyang Regional Architects Association.
Any interested individuals, including Anyang citizens, related organizations and associations, relevant departments, and public officials from neighboring local governments, are welcome to attend this public hearing.
The draft reestablishment of Anyang’s landscape plan involves reviewing and reorganizing the city’s landscape plan originally established in 2016. It presents appropriate landscape promotion strategies by zones, axes, and hubs, as well as design standards for buildings, open rest areas, public facilities, outdoor advertisements, color schemes, and nighttime landscapes, providing a basic framework to guide the formation of a beautiful urban landscape.
After the public hearing, the process will continue with the city council’s opinion hearing and the Landscape Committee’s review, aiming to complete the reestablishment of the landscape plan by December this year.
Mayor Choi Dae-ho of Anyang stated, "We look forward to the active participation of citizens and experts in creating a beautiful Anyang."
