Director Bong Joon-ho showed support for director Yoo Jae-sun's film Jam, which will be released on the 6th of next month.
On the 26th, at the special GV (Guest Visit) event for the film Jam held at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, Director Bong said, "I read the script and watched the edited version, so I knew the story and development," but added, "I was completely drawn in for the entire 94 minutes and could not let go of the tension."

Participating as the moderator that day, Director Bong said, "It is refreshing to see the emergence of an interesting and unique film, a truly cinematic movie. Watching this work on the big screen, I felt drawn in by the overwhelming performances of the actors and the tension."
He continued, "In terms of tone and manner, ideas, and development style, this is a new kind of film. Audiences will definitely welcome this movie," offering his support.
Lee Sun-kyun, who previously collaborated with Director Bong on the film Parasite (2019), plays Hyun-soo, a husband who is afraid to fall asleep in Jam. Lee Sun-kyun said, "The script was really good without any unnecessary parts from the start, and I enjoyed watching the film with great immersion."
Director Yoo Jae-sun shared, "There were many moments when I got goosebumps every time the two actors performed. Whenever they delivered emotionally draining performances, I was so overwhelmed that the moment I called 'cut' was often delayed." Director Bong added, "Jung Yu-mi and Lee Sun-kyun carry the film hard from the beginning. Such focused acting from start to finish is rare."
He also gave praise for the direction. Director Bong said, "It is refreshing that a film has come out that can captivate the audience for 94 minutes purely through the power of the story and the actors, showcasing the purest cinematic strength."
He also said, "I think it is very meaningful that this is a work by a rookie director. When a rookie director debuts, there are always many hurdles and difficulties. In such circumstances, I felt that a small but solid, gem-like film has emerged."
When the topic of the ending of Jam came up, Director Bong shared an anecdote from the filming of Memories of Murder, where Park Hae-il was curious about whether he was the culprit or not. In response, Lee Sun-kyun and Director Yoo said, "We will leave the interpretation of the ending of Jam up to the audience. We want to keep the door open for the viewers' interpretations."
