LG Uplus announced on the 28th that it will hold a preferred number lottery event from the 29th until the 12th of next month. The types of phone numbers available for entry in this lottery event include ▲AAAA ▲000A ▲00AA ▲AA00 ▲ABAB ▲A000 ▲ABCD ▲ABCD-ABCD where the area code and the last digits are the same ▲numbers with specific meanings, totaling 10,000 numbers. Since 2006, LG Uplus has annually provided phone numbers with specific meanings or easy-to-remember patterns that are highly preferred by many customers through a lottery. In the second half of 2022, the most popular type in the lottery was ABCD-ABCD, with a competition rate of 580 to 1.

Customers who wish to enter the preferred number lottery can participate by visiting offline stores or by accessing the preferred number application event page and filling out the application form from the 29th until the 12th of next month. Not only LG Uplus customers but also customers of other telecom providers can apply. MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) users can also apply for up to three numbers per person according to their service provider’s instructions.

The winners will be announced on the 18th of next month. From the 20th of next month until October 10th, the winning numbers will be distributed to the winners. Winners cannot transfer the preferred numbers to others and are not eligible to apply for the preferred number lottery event held for one year after distribution.
