"Why Do House Prices Fall When Interest Rates Rise?"... Jongno-gu Economic Academy Applications Open from the 28th

Duksung Women's University Lifelong Education Center and First Session This Year
Every Thursday Evening from 7 to 9 PM Starting October 5

Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) is partnering with Duksung Women's University Lifelong Education Center to offer the '2023 Economic Academy' program starting in October, where participants can easily learn about economic principles such as interest rates and exchange rates.


The education sessions will be held every Thursday from 7 to 9 PM, from October 5 to November 23, on the 3rd floor of the Duksung Women's University Lifelong Education Center in Unni-dong, Jongno-gu, totaling 8 sessions. The tuition fee is 20,000 KRW.


The program focuses on delivering practical economic knowledge useful in daily life, covering topics such as the difference between price and value, the correlation between interest rates and housing prices, assets and savings, and the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on our lives. The education will be conducted by Professor Ahn Byeongcheol, adjunct professor at Korea Maritime University, and Professor Park Hyonyong from Duksung Women's University.

Applications can be submitted online through the Jongno Education Portal from August 28 to September 8. The number of participants is limited to 50 adult residents of the district. For more details, please refer to the Jongno Education Portal or contact the Education and Lifelong Education Team.


District Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, "We aim to develop high-quality lifelong education programs that enhance the quality of life for residents by collaborating with various cultural and educational institutions such as local art museums and libraries," and added, "We hope for great interest and participation in the Economic Academy, which is being introduced for the first time this year in partnership with Duksung Women's University Lifelong Education Center."
