Hyundai Construction Wins Main Prize of 'IDEA Design Award' for Tokki Playground

Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 27th that the playground facility "Rabbit Playground" at Hillstate Hong Eun Forest in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, won the main prize at the 'IDEA Design Awards 2023.'

The IDEA Design Awards, established in 1980, is an international design award hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). Along with Germany's 'iF Design Award' and the 'Red Dot Award,' it is considered one of the world's top three design awards. Each year, it selects the best design products by comprehensively evaluating design innovation, user benefits, and social responsibility of the entries.

The Rabbit Playground at Hillstate Hong Eun Forest is the world's first children's playground facility realized using 3D printing technology. The dynamic form created by the irregular structure and the highly noticeable colors combine to create sculptural beauty, highlighting the promotion of active engagement by users.

In particular, it has been praised for boldly showcasing differentiated technological capabilities as a leading company in the construction industry by directly implementing cutting-edge 4th industrial revolution technologies in residential complexes.

With this award, Hyundai Engineering & Construction achieved the remarkable feat of being the only domestic construction company to be selected for the world's top three design awards for three consecutive years in the exterior product category.

In July 2020, Hyundai Engineering & Construction patented a method for producing irregular landscaping structures using 3D printing technology and filed for an irregular bench produced through this method. Following this, the 3D printed bench won the American Design Award, demonstrating excellent technological competitiveness in the field of 3D printing.
