Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will operate the second half of the 「Dementia Safety Nori-ter (老利攄)」 in Cheongnyong-dong and Boramae-dong from August 22 to October 17.

The Dementia Safety Nori-ter (老利攄), meaning 'a place prepared for the elderly,' is a user-centered service that provides outreach programs aimed at improving awareness of dementia and preventing dementia.

The program incorporates physical activities with cognitive tasks such as ▲finding the same picture ▲writing words based on initial consonants ▲following exercise boards for physical activity ▲and bingo games using arithmetic formulas. The program is designed for participation by all generations, helping to foster social consensus on dementia prevention and spread positive awareness about dementia.

The district received great responses from operating Dementia Safety Nori-ter in Seorim-dong and Seonghyeon-dong from April to June in the first half of the year. One elderly participant said, “It was really good to go outdoors, meet people, and engage in dementia prevention activities,” adding, “Participating in the dementia prevention program made me realize that I need to pay more attention to preventing dementia in the future.”

In the second half of the year, Dementia Safety Nori-ter will be held in Cheongnyong-dong and Boramae-dong from August 22 to October 17 for 8 weeks, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and any Gwanak-gu resident can participate without prior registration.

In Cheongnyong-dong, the Dementia Safety Nori-ter will be held every Tuesday in the space between Building 302 and Building 505 of ePyeonhan Sesang Seoul National University Entrance Apartments, and in Boramae-dong, it will be held every Wednesday at the Euncheon-dong Village Yard (Euncheon-gyo bus stop).

A district official said, “At the Dementia Safety Nori-ter, not only dementia prevention programs but also dementia (memory) tests are available, so we encourage many residents to participate,” adding, “Gwanak-gu will continue to strive to ensure that dementia patients and their families can live safely with their neighbors.”
