First, it will launch a large-scale and systematic seafood promotion event. Following the Jeonnam Province-Suhyup seafood consumption promotion event held on the 22nd, an online shopping mall, Namdo Jangteo, will host the ‘Seafood Win-Win Discount Festival’ from September 1 to 30.

This special exhibition will offer 256 items, including fish such as abalone, rockfish, eel, and red sea bream, as well as various processed seaweed products, at discounts of up to 30%. It is an opportunity for consumers to purchase Jeonnam seafood at affordable prices.

In September, seafood direct transaction markets will be held in Seoul and Jeonnam areas to promote sales, and a large-scale ‘Buy Seafood Gifts for Chuseok’ campaign will also be launched.

From October to November, support for ‘seafood packages for vulnerable groups’ and ‘promotional activities visiting companies and related organizations’ will continue to assist struggling fishing households.

Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, said, “The 2 billion KRW contingency fund support activities for fishermen are intended to help fishing households expected to suffer damage due to the Fukushima contaminated water discharge,” adding, “We hope all citizens will participate and purchase excellent Jeonnam seafood at affordable prices.”
